Black Brick Founder and Managing Partner Camilla Dell is quoted in the Financial Times feature “St John’s Wood is raising its head above the parapet” (21 October 2026), which looks at the changing character of one of north London’s most established residential neighbourhoods.

The article explores how new restaurants, improvements to the high street and a series of residential developments are bringing fresh attention to St John’s Wood. Camilla highlights the role of the area’s substantial domestic buyer base in supporting its resilience compared with more internationally dependent prime London markets. She also identifies demand from long-standing local families looking to downsize while remaining in the neighbourhood.

Why St John’s Wood is proving resilient

Camilla Dell, Managing Partner at Black Brick, told the Financial Times:

“St John’s Wood is pretty hot. The large domestic buyer base in St John’s Wood – more than 50 per cent British – has made it more resilient than places such as Belgravia and Knightsbridge, which are 10 per cent domestic.”

Alongside these opportunities, Camilla cautions that the development pipeline brings “a real oversupply”, underlining the importance of careful property selection and informed advice on pricing. Recently, we found an off-market family house in St John’s Wood for clients relocating from Singapore.
