We were retained by a young British client who was looking for a 3-bedroom house in Notting Hill. The house needed to be wide, bright and in ready to move in condition. He didn’t have the appetite or time to take on any work.
Due to the architecture of houses in Notting Hill and Holland Park, the vast majority of the stock was unsuited to his requirements as they are tall and narrow.
We found a wonderful, newly built, 3-bedroom house set across only three floors on Hippodrome Place in Notting Hill. The living room was over 27ft wide and was filled with natural light. It was exactly what he was looking for.
Being brand newly built the house was in excellent condition and required no work. Despite the very competitive house market in Notting Hill, we were still able to negotiate a £195,000 discount from the reduced asking price. Far in excess of our fee.
