After accepting a new role in the city, our Berkshire based clients were looking to buy a Central London apartment to use during the week in order to shorten their commute. We were under time pressure to find the right property before our client started work at their new firm. Our clients had very specific criteria. The apartment needed to be in fantastic condition, have air conditioning and be located within a short distance from Bank station via tube.
Our search covered multiple areas including Covent Garden, Holborn and Soho. Ultimately we identified a superb, modern and bright 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment in a boutique new build development called The Watch House. The unit was one of the best in the scheme being a corner a unit on a high floor with floor to ceiling windows and vibrant views.
The name of the development, Watch House, is a nod to the 17th century (1687-1703) when French Huguenot immigrants developed a watch-making and silver smithing industry in the area.
Located in Soho and only 4 stops on the central line from Tottenham Court road to Bank Station it was the perfect property and location for our client.
We negotiated hard and managed to secure the apartment, with all the furniture and art included, at a 9.3% discount from the asking price. We recommended the right lawyer and surveyor enabling our clients to complete the purchase within 4 weeks. They were delighted with the end result.
